As of 2015, the George Foreman grill has sold over 100 million units since it was introduced. In 1997, Salton paid George Foreman $137 million for the continued use of his name on the product. While the product was innovative, George's personality and charisma marketed the grill and made the brand a success. The marketing focused on his career as a boxer, using the phrase "knock out the fat." The company has develop several iterations of the grill, launching the "Next Grilleration" in 2006.
