GE announced its Cafe series in January 2015 at Appliance Park in Louisville and expects to release the series before the end of 2015. The refrigerators come with a built-in feature that allows users to brew Keurig K-Cups. As of 2015, its suggested retail price is $3,330.
The original idea for the GE Cafe series was the result of a survey among consumers that owned the Cafe French refrigerator. The survey focused on whether or not the consumer would be interested in a refrigerator that offered an option for a single serving of coffee or tea. It is estimated that two-thirds of consumers said that they would be interested in this product.
