The wattage of a refrigerator can be determined by reviewing the manufacturer's data plate attached to the appliance. This is typically a metal plate attached to the refrigerator that displays a variety of information about the appliance.
To locate and review the data plate attached to the appliance, first disconnect the power to the refrigerator and gain vision of the rear side. The manufacturer's data plate is typically attached to the back or bottom of the appliance. This is usually an obvious metal plate that contains information such as the voltage, serial number, make and model of the refrigerator, as well as the wattage. After gathering the information needed, reconnect the power to the refrigerator.
