There are many different manufacturers of slow cookers, such as Cuisinart, All-Clad and Crock-Pot. Vita Clay and Hamilton Beach are other manufacturers that also make slow cookers.
Crock-Pot has several of the highest rated slow cookers available, according to Good Housekeeping. They are the Crock-Pot Versaware Pro slow cooker, the Crock-Pot Smart Set and the Crock-Pot Countdown. All of these slow cookers include features such as programmable cooking times that can be set for as little as 30 minutes or as long as 20 hours. The Crock-Pot Versaware Pro also can also brown foods as well as cook them, which Good Housekeeping said added another layer of flavor to the dishes they prepared. The Smart Set slow cooker is considered the best slow cooker by Crock-Pot, while the Countdown is the best slow cooker in its price range.
Another good option for slow cookers is the All-Clad electric slow cooker, which received the highest marks out of all slow cookers reviewed by Good Housekeeping. The product reviewers stated that this slow cooker made a flavorful beef stew without all of the signs associated with over cooking. However, at 17 pounds, this is one of the heavier slow cookers available, and the people at Good Housekeeping recommend taking out the ceramic insert before moving it.
