Zuken and Smartdraw make automotive wiring diagram software. Some of the software systems are designed for industrial engineering applications, while others can be operated by less experienced users.
Smartdraw software is designed for use by professionals but has an interface with vehicle templates that make it easier for novices to get started. It also has an extensive library of standard electrical symbols and individual circuits for bulbs, audio systems, switches, relays and sensors. Smartdraw also includes analog diagrams as well as National Electrical Contractors Association symbols.
Users can publish their diagrams for viewing with standard browsers. It also has an app for viewing on smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices. The Smartdraw software is available on the Windows platform and offers free trial downloads.
Zuken's E3 software is for industrial vehicle manufacturers and is used by major car makers, including Mercedes-Benz. Multiple members of a design team can work on the same project using either an Oracle or SQL library. E3 is modular and can be added seamlessly to most design systems, and its object-oriented structure immediately notifies electrical engineers of any changes made by other engineers using the system. The software is meant to be integrated with in-house systems.
