Use ammonia to clean an electric oven by first preheating the oven to 150 degrees Fahrenheit. Place 1/2 cup of ammonia in a pan on the top shelf, along with a pan of boiling water on the bottom shelf. After allowing it to sit overnight, remove both pans, and use the ammonia with warm water and a small amount of dishwashing detergent to wipe out the oven.
Combining equal parts of water and ammonia can make it easier to clean a bathtub, as this mixture quickly eliminates soap scum from the tub. Additionally, add 1/4 cup of ammonia to a gallon of water to clean bathroom tiles and eliminate mold and mildew. This method also adds sparkle to dull tiles.
If the household crystal looks dull, add a couple of drops of ammonia to 2 cups of water, and use a soft rag or towel to wipe the crystal. After wiping the crystal, rinse each piece with clear water, and towel dry by hand to bring back the shine.Learn more about Cleaning Products
