Common problems with vertical blinds include broken blind vanes, difficulty in opening the blinds and jamming that prevents the blinds from rotating. Most vertical blind problems can be fixed through troubleshooting.
During replacement of vinyl vanes, some vertical slats may misalign or overlap, thereby preventing an individual blind from opening. An object may jam the opening mechanism of the vertical blind and prevent the system from rotating the blinds. Forcefully trying to open vertical blinds while the mechanism is jammed may strip the system’s master gear, while lack of lubrication on the track or turning mechanism may prevent the blinds from opening.
