The most common repairs for ice machines include fixing problems with the freezer switch, clogged water filter, poor or no ice cube production, defective water inlet valve and leaking water in the machine. A number of ice machines fail to work because of dirt.
The freezer switch that does not work may be accidentally shut off or defective in some cases. Clogged filters may prevent water from flowing to the icemaker, hampering ice production. Ice production may decrease if the environment in the machine is too warm. Similarly, the machine may fail to produce ice cubes because of high temperatures as water shuts down. A defective water inlet valve causes water supply cutoff. Oversized cubes are an indication of a leaky water inlet valve.
