Some common fixes for a Frigidaire ice maker that isn’t working are to replace the water inlet valve, check the temperature of the freezer and check the water pressure from the water supply line. If the ice maker assembly is defective, the ice maker may malfunction.

If the ice maker assembly is defective then it needs to be replaced.

The Frigidaire ice maker’s water inlet valve is responsible for controlling the flow of water into the ice maker assembly. If the water inlet valve is malfunctioning, then the ice maker assembly is unable to fill the internal ice trays with water to make the ice. If water doesn’t flow through the water inlet valve, possibly the house’s water supply line is not running at the proper pressure. The water inlet valve is designed to operate only when the water pressure of the main supply line is set at a minimum of 20 pounds per square inch.

Another reason that the Frigidaire ice maker may be malfunctioning is because the temperature in the refrigerator and freezer is too high, either because the temperature was manually set too high or because the condenser coil, the condenser fan or evaporator coil are malfunctioning. The temperature in the freezer needs to be between 0 and 5 degrees Fahrenheit for the ice maker to function properly.
