According to the mattress review website Sleep Like the Dead common complaints against Kingsdown mattresses include a loss of support and comfort over a short period of time and use and limited availability in firmness options. The Viewpoints website also posts reviews complaining about the mattress and its propensity to compress and lose support. It is also rated as expensive for the level of quality.
Sleep Like the Dead reports only a 63 percent owner satisfaction rating as of Aug. 9, 2015. This below-average rating is primarily due to over 20 percent of owners reporting a significant change in the mattress' level of comfort. Pronounced sagging and the formation of body impressions were the top reasons for the change. Some owners reported having to rotate their Kingsdown mattress from head to foot to combat uneven wear. Also, while it was easy to find Kingsdown mattresses in firm or soft support, availability in the medium-support models was very limited.
Viewpoints also posted reviews claiming a significant loss of comfort and support, some as quickly as six month after purchase. Others claimed the decrease in comfort extended so far as to make sleeping on the mattress painful. Once couple stated having to switch sleeping sides constantly in order to take turns getting a better night's sleep.
