Eastern redbud, flowering crabapple and crepe myrtle are colorful flowering trees. Other trees with brightly-hued blossoms include the flowering dogwood, southern magnolia, golden chain tree and cherry tree.
The eastern redbud tree is a small ornamental tree that produces light pink blossoms. It reaches a maximum height of 30 feet.
Flowering crabapple trees, which bloom in early spring, also develop large quantities of pink flowers. Asian crabapple varieties contain large, brightly colored fruit that remains after the blossoms fall.
Crepe myrtle is a flowering deciduous tree that thrives in sunny locations. Japanese crepe myrtles have white flowers, but other cultivars also produce pink, red and purple blossoms.
