All-purpose spray-on cleaners, nylon-bristle brushes, and nylon cleaning pads are safe cleaning products for continuous-cleaning ovens. A cold, wet sponge or paper towel removes cleaning-product residues and food particles.
Continuous-cleaning ovens use a porous, catalytic coating on the oven interior to lower the temperature at which food particles break down. Abrasive cleaning products, sharp tools, oven cleaners, steel wool and other metal cleaning pads scratch and damage the surface of the coating. Spray-on, wipe-off cleaners are safe to use but rapidly evaporate when applied to a warm or hot surface, which leave a white residue that is difficult to remove.
