To clean Timberland suede boots, gently scrub stains with an emery board and a pencil eraser. Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil and hold the boots over the steam for several seconds. Once slightly damp, scrub the suede with a toothbrush.
- Scrub deep stains
With a standard emery board, gently scrub the stains. To protect nap quality, scrub in the direction of suede fibers. Do not press too hard, as this may damage the nap. If stains are not removed, lightly run the emery board against the nap. Be careful, as excess pressure may damage suede fibers.
- Erase scuff marks
Remove scuff marks by gently rubbing a clean pencil erasure over the suede surface.
- Boil a pot of water
Fill a pot with enough water to create plumes of steam. Bring the water to a rolling boil before removing from the heat source.
- Steam the suede
Hold the boots over the steam for 10 seconds, or until the suede is lightly damp. Do not saturate the suede with steam as excess moisture can damage the nap.
- Brush the suede
To revive suede quality after cleaning, gently brush against the grain with a soft-bristle toothbrush. Do not scrub in a back-and-forth motion.
