Clean tile by sweeping or vacuuming the tiles, making a vinegar solution, mopping the tiles with the solution and cleaning the grout. Besides vinegar and baking soda, you need water, a large bucket, essential oils, a vacuum or broom, a mop, a nylon brush and a towel.
- Sweep the tiles
Remove any loose dust and debris from the tile. If it is a tile floor, sweep or vacuum it.
- Make the vinegar solution
In a container or bucket, mix 1 gallon of water with 1/2 cup of white vinegar. Add a few drops of essential oils to give the mixture a pleasing aroma.
- Mop the floor
Dip a mop or rag into the mixture. Wring out the rag or mop. Start cleaning the tile at one of the corners, working across to the other corner and then across the floor.
- Scrub stubborn areas
Scrub stubborn stains and the grout lines with a nylon brush.
- Clean the grout
Make a paste out of baking soda and water, and rub it into the grout. Allow the areas to soak overnight before removing the paste.
- Rinse the tiles
Rinse the tiles with water.
- Dry the tiles
Dry the tiles with a clean towel.
