To clean screens, remove them from the windows, and gently wash them with a sponge and a mixture of warm water and dish soap. Rinse the screens with hose water, and lean them against a wall in the sun. Allow them to dry thoroughly before placing them back in the windows.
- Remove the screens
Remove the screens from the windows. Label each screen with its corresponding window to make it easier to replace the screens when you are done.
- Create a cleaning solution
Mix 1/2 gallon of warm water with 1 teaspoon of dish soap. Pour the mixture in a spray bottle.
- Wash each screen
Lay the screens on a tarp on the ground. Spray one side of a screen with the water and soap mixture. Gently wash the screen with a sponge, being careful not to push against the screen and warp it. Turn the screen over, and spray and wash the other side in the same manner. Rinse each side of the screen with hose water.
- Allow the screens to dry
Place a tarp against a wall on the sunny side of a building. Lean the screens against the wall. Allow them to dry thoroughly before replacing them.
