Clean plastic decking by scrubbing stains with soapy water and baking soda, mopping the surface with a vinegar solution, and rinsing the area with water. You need cloth rags, dish detergent, baking soda, white vinegar, a garden hose, a bucket and a soft scrub brush.
- Blot stains
Blot wet stains or grease spills with a cloth rag to remove as much of the stain as possible.
- Scrub the stains
Fill a bucket with warm water, and add some dish detergent. Place some of the soap mixture on the stains. Scrub the area with a soft scrub brush. Avoid using abrasive cleaning products or scrubbing pads that can damage the plastic.
- Blot the water
Use a clean cloth to blot up the soapy water. If the stain remains, repeat the cleaning process.
- Add baking soda
Sprinkle particularly grimy areas and stains with baking soda. Scrub the area again with the scrub brush.
- Make the vinegar solution and mop the deck
Empty the bucket of the soap mixture, and fill it with one gallon of warm water and one cup of white vinegar. Mop the deck with the vinegar solution.
- Rinse the deck
After cleaning, rinse the deck with a garden hose.
