Take the removable parts off the coffee maker, and wash them in warm, soapy water. Dip a toothbrush in full-strength white vinegar, and use it to clean the brewer handle, and then wrap a cloth dipped in vinegar around the brush. Use the cloth-wrapped brush to gently clean the inside of the brewer funnel, and pour white vinegar into the water reservoir. Brew the white vinegar without a K-cup until the reservoir is empty.
If necessary, place the funnel back into the coffee machine while brewing the vinegar to prevent the vinegar from spraying. After brewing the vinegar, brew plain water without a K-cup to remove any residual vinegar, and place the removable parts back onto the machine. Clean the machine with vinegar on a regular basis to prevent lime scale deposits.
Wipe the exterior of the coffee machine with a damp microfiber cloth. If there are lime deposits, clean these areas with a cloth dipped in white vinegar. To maintain a clean K-cup coffee machine, brew plain water without a K-cup after making cocoa or other sugar-containing beverages in the machine. Do not leave water in the reservoir for long periods of time, and brew with spring or bottled water to prevent mineral buildup.
