How Do You Clean a GE Profile Convection Microwave?

Food spills in a GE Profile convection microwave can be cleaned by wiping down the interior of the appliance with a damp, soapy sponge or paper towel. For caked-on food, heating a cup of water for three minutes to soften the food may simplify wiping down the area.

Steaming water or a mixture of water and vinegar typically softens hardened food particles within the convection oven. The interior area of the convection microwave may be too hot after the three minute heating, so it is advisable to hold off on wiping down the interior for at least five minutes. The spills and stains should wipe off easily when soft.

A mixture of warm water and baking soda can also be applied to tough stains in the interior of a convection microwave. The paste should be applied and allowed to settle for a few hours or overnight. The baking soda and water paste can be wiped down once it dries with a damp sponge or cloth.

Commercial grade microwave cleaning sprays or mild dish washing liquid can also be used to clean convection microwaves. When cleaning any appliance, such as the GE Profile convection microwave, the power cord should be unplugged to reduce the risk of electric shock.
