To clean a dishwasher with vinegar, first clean the filter and filter tray, pour 1 cup of white vinegar in the dishwasher, and deodorize your dishwasher with baking soda. This process takes up to 10 hours and requires white vinegar and baking soda.
- Clean the filter
Unscrew the filter and filter tray from the bottom of your dishwasher. Soak both items in warm, soapy water. Do not scrub the filter with a sponge. Replace the filter and tray after 10 minutes.
- Apply the vinegar
Measure 1 cup of white vinegar, and pour it over the bottom of the dishwasher. Run the heavy cleaning cycle on your dishwasher.
- Deodorize with baking soda
Sprinkle 1 cup of baking soda on the bottom of your dishwasher, and allow it to sit overnight. Finish by running another empty cycle.
