Use a low-foaming mild cleaning product that does not contain chloride salts, or use a product designed for aluminum. Use a sponge to apply cleaner to each frame, starting at the top. Rinse with clean water and dry with a soft cotton cloth or a chamois.
Clean aluminum window frames at least once a month to prevent corrosion and pitting. Brush and vacuum around the frames before washing to remove dirt from sashes and windowsills. Use a nylon toothbrush to clean parts that are difficult to reach. Apply car wax or a silicone lubricant to the clean frames to slow oxidation and leaves frames shining.
