CIL paint color charts help the user to visualize what a certain paint color will look like in a particular space as well as determine aesthetically pleasing color combinations. Users must create an account on CIL.ca to use some of the color chart features.
To view a color chart on the CIL website, click the Colors drop-down menu at the top of the page, and then select a color group. This directs the user to a page displaying all of the variations of a particular color group, for example, oranges. Colors on the oranges chart range from shades of bright orange to dark greys and off-whites that have mild orange undertones.
Slide the cursor over a color swatch to view the color's name and serial number. This helps the user locate the paint color in-store if she decides to purchase it. Clicking a color swatch brings the user to a page that displays the chosen color in a larger field.
This page also displays two coordinating colors and two similar shades. The selection of coordinating colors allows the user to choose other paint colors if she wishes to include highlights or an accent wall in her paint job. CIL.ca also offers a visualizer tool that allows users to apply chosen paint colors to a photo of their own room or a stock photo.
