In order to replace the filter in a Maytag Dishwasher, the unit must be located and replaced after cleaning the filter basin. Replacing the filter allows the water and soap to flow through and clean everything more efficiently.
Use the following steps to replace a filter on a Maytag Dishwasher.
- Locate the filter
- Remove the filter cover
- Remove the filter
- Clean the basin
- Install the new filter
The filter will be located under the drain cap.
Loosen the mounting screws on the cover and remove it.
Access the old filter and remove it from the drain.
With the old filter removed, clean the water basin so the new one can be installed in a clean environment.
Place the new filter inside the basin, install the cover and drain cap.
