There are no catalogs available for Gardener’s Eden. The catalog and associated retail stores went out of business in 2005 when its parent company, Brookstone, failed to find a buyer for the business.
Gardener’s Eden began operating as a private business in 1982 selling premium gardening and outdoor products. Home products retailer Williams-Sonoma bought the catalog in the late 1980s and subsequently sold it to Brookstone in 1999. An article in Multichannel Merchant reports that industry observers cite both the seasonal nature of the business and a lack of updated merchandise as two reasons why the business could not sustain profitability.
