A regular clothes washer and a steam dryer work in different ways. Steam dryers use steam to dry clothing, while most regular washing machines remove considerable amounts of water from the laundry at the end of a wash cycle, but do not entirely dry them.
A steam dryer can be used to refresh clothes that might not need to go through a full cycle of washing. It is effective in removing odors and wrinkles from clothing from a load of laundry. Due to the fact that it uses a heat of steam, a steam dryer can be used to sterilize clothes to remove disease-causing bacteria and other germs.
