Quonset huts are constructed from corrugated metal and can be insulated with spray foam or Prodex Total insulation products. Fiberglass insulation does not work well on steel buildings because fiberglass traps moisture and does not adhere well to curved and corrugated ceilings.
Spray foam is a viable insulation option because it easily adheres to the curved and corrugated metal, and it does not trap the moisture. Spray foam should be applied by a certified technician, so it is not ideal for those interested in a do-it-yourself option.
A Prodex Total product is another insulation option, and users can potentially install the rolls without hiring a professional. Prodex rolls feature radiant and vapor barriers, as well as reflexive insulation, to protect from moisture.
