As of 2015, there are only a small number of retailers that continue to sell Reddy Heaters, including Amazon and The Home Depot. Some of the types of Reddy Heaters available include infrared heaters, propane forced-air heaters and the Blue Flame Dual-Wall heaters.
The reason that so few companies carry Reddy Heaters is that the company is no longer in business. In December 2008, DESA Heating Products, the company that produced the Reddy Heater brand and imported the heaters to the United States, filed for bankruptcy and closed the company. This announcement came right around the same time as the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a major recall of heaters imported by DESA Heating Products and the Scheu Manufacturing Corporation. This recall affected the Reddy Heater models HD15A and HD30A, along with a number of other models from related brands, including Master and All-Pro.
Prior to the company's closure in 2008, DESA Heating Products also manufactured heaters under a number of other brand names, including Vanguard, Remington Heaters, Universal Portable Heaters, Glo-Warm and Comfort Warm.
Although the company no longer manufactures heaters, replacement parts for Reddy Heater products are available from a number of different retailers, including Sears Parts Direct, as of 2015.
