A replacement key for a Sentry safe can be purchased directly from the SentrySafe website. Other options for contacting the company are telephone, fax and email.
Due to the nature of the replacement request, there are a few security steps involved to ensure that the person requesting the replacement key is the owner of the safe or a legal representative of the owner. The requester must first pay a non-refundable service fee online or by telephone, and then fill out an official SentrySafe Security Key Request form, which can be downloaded from the website or acquired via fax, email or USPS. Once the form is completed, it must be notarized. The requester must sign the document in the presence of the notary public for it to be valid.
If the safe was inherited or if the key requester is acting on behalf of the safe owner, the requester may be required to provide supporting documents such as death certificate, will, Power of Attorney or other court-ordered forms before the notary will affix the seal. The notarized document must then be returned via email, fax or USPS.
Once the form is received by SentrySafe, the request can take from three to five business days to process, but for an additional fee for expedited processing, the wait time is only one or two business days.
