Taffeta can be ironed with a warm dry iron. It cannot be steamed because it is susceptible to water spots. Taffeta is made from silk, acetate, rayon, nylon or polyester. Whether the taffeta can be pressed depends upon the material.
Most irons have fabric content settings that can correspond with the material types used in taffeta. Once the iron has heated completely, it is recommended to test the setting by ironing a piece of scrap taffeta before beginning. Continuously moving the iron can help avoid scorching the fabric.
Taffeta can be easily snagged and handling taffeta requires smooth nails and hands.
