Popular Mechanics covers setting concrete deck blocks, assembling band joists, putting together the floor, framing the walls and installing the windows as among the steps of shed assembly. Additional steps are installing siding, assembling parts for roof trusses, installing walls, positioning trusses, and attaching rake and fascia boards. The entry contains a total of 15 steps, most with accompanying photos. Each step also lists required tools and parts for that step.
The Family Handyman introduces its shed-building guide by providing estimates of the time required for completion, the difficulty level and the cost. It then lists some of the major components to purchase for the shed, including a cost-cutting custom door, arch-top windows and composite trim. In addition to providing photos of each step of the building process, the guide also has an illustration showing the different components of the building. Steps include standing the walls, building the door and windows, and installing the exterior trim.Learn more about Carpentry
