An electric range can simply be plugged in if the proper power receptacle is already installed. If it is not, a licensed electrician needs to install a wired receptacle designed to plug the stove in safely.
Many cooking areas already have a receptacle for an electric stove. Usually, receptacles only have to be installed when an electric stove requires a 220-volt receptacle rather than a standard receptacle. Help may be needed to move the stove into place. This can usually be done with a hand truck. Stairs can make stove installation harder since the stove needs to be carried up them.
