Customers buy Trex composite decking from various dealers in the United States. Individuals can find Trex retailers by using the company's Dealer Locator portal. National home improvement chains Lowe's and The Home Depot sell Trex composite decking in stores and through their websites, as of March 2015.
Consumers input a city or zip code into Trex's search box and then choose one of the options that appears from the list of geographical choices offered. Individuals select a search radius of 10, 25 or 50 miles. Users may limit the search to retailers that carry seven different types of Trex products, including elevated steel framing, decking, railing, outdoor lighting and drainage systems. Customers click on the magnifying glass icon to the right of the search box when they are ready to find retail locations.
Results appear in two lists: local dealers and home improvement retailers. Each listing contains a business name, address and phone number. Customers click on Get Driving Directions to open a separate Web browser window that features a Google Maps search function. Users view generic mapped results on the right side of the page.
Lowes.com features 85 Trex products, and HomeDepot.com contains 24 listings. Both websites allow shoppers to sort products by price, customer ratings and bestsellers.
