Trane air conditioners can only purchased from local dealers that have received the Trane Comfort Specialist certification. The Trane website allows customers to find local dealers in their area based on their zip code.
In addition to the dealer locator function, the website also features a large amount of additional information on buying Trane HVAC products, including details about Trane Comfort Specialist dealers and what questions customers should ask their dealer when shopping. The Buying a Trane section also features information about pricing, financing, tax credits and any current savings and offers on Trane HVAC products.
Trane produces 14 different models of air conditioners as of 2015, all but one of which has received the federal EnergyStar rating. The Trane air conditioners vary quite widely in terms of price, size, output and efficiency. The model with the highest seasonal energy efficiency rating is the XV20i Variable Speed, which has a rating of up to 21 SEER. This model also ranks as the quietest air conditioner Trane produces.
The least expensive Trane air conditioner is the XB300, which only has an efficiency rating up to 13 SEER. This is also the only one of Trane's air conditioners not to carry the EnergyStar label.
