Thermostats for radiant heat can be purchased from websites dedicated to heating systems, such as Thermosoft.com, and from online marketplaces, such as Amazon.com. Radiant heating thermostats often come with a floor sensor, and certain models are programmable.
Unlike traditional heating systems, which provide warm air sent through vents, radiant heating systems use tubes filled with liquid or electric coils to provide heat. The tubes are placed under floors and boiler systems deliver hot water to the radiator in each room, heating the tubes and raising the temperature. Radiant heating systems are more efficient than traditional heating systems, although radiant systems take much longer to heat up.
