A replacement sharpener assembly for a Hobart slicer can be purchased from the Kerekes Bake Deco website, or directly from the Hobart Service Smart Parts eStore. Used sharpener assemblies for older machines are less common, but can occasionally be found on the Old Hobart Slicer Parts website.
The Hobart Electric Manufacturing Company was founded in 1897. In 1903, Hobart produced the world's first self-contained, powered coffee mills. Hobart started making electric meat choppers in 1905, and by 1909 the Model 232 meat chopper was introduced to large volume retail operations. The Model IIA electric slicer was introduced in 1930, and today Hobart continues to supply commercial kitchens with electric slicers.
