Extended warranties for Frigidaire appliances can be purchased directly from Frigidaire via its customer support phone number, as of March 2015. An extended warranty includes additional coverage for repairs and product replacement under certain conditions.
Whenever an individual purchases a new Frigidaire product from a licensed dealer or distributor, she automatically receives a limited warranty at no additional charge. This warranty allows the owner to request certain kinds of maintenance on the product at no additional charge, as well as contact a customer support specialist for troubleshooting help, for specified period of time, usually ranging from a few months up to a year. Once the warranty expires, the owner is financially responsible for all replacements and repairs performed on the unit.
Prior to the expiration of the warranty, the owner has the option to purchase an extended warranty, which provides the same coverage as in the limited warranty but for a longer period of time. Frigidaire's extended warranties add up to three additional years of coverage to the product in question, in addition to any other currently active warranty.
Some appliance dealers, such as Best Buy, also offer additional exclusive warranties and coverage to customers who purchase appliances from them.
