Dozens of websites, including ePlans.com and FloorPlans.com, sell home plans directly to consumers. The websites ask purchasers to select a number of options before providing plans.
The websites offer plans for various styles of homes, including A-frame, contemporary, Craftsman, Tudor, three-bedroom and two-story styles. Potential home builders provide details such as the number of bedrooms and bathrooms desired, if a garage is to be included, how many stories are wanted and how many square feet are desired. Entering the building lot size also narrows the plan choices. Some websites also provide estimates of the cost to build, depending on the construction location.
