Cabaret style is a layout for tables and seating for a staged event. It consists of round tables arranged throughout the venue, each with an open end toward the stage, allowing attendees a clear view of the presentation.
Companies or organizations may choose cabaret-style seating for business presentations, workshops and training sessions, seminars, awards ceremonies, gala dinners or product launches. This style focuses attention toward the stage but reduces seating capacity. Seating style is important in effective communication of the presenters’ message and deserves careful planning. Other layouts for seating include theatre, banquet, boardroom, horseshoe, hollow square, “u” shape, herringbone and classroom. Cocktail layout is standing-room-only with no seats.
