Rice weevils are insects that show up in rice and other whole grains. While this insect's eggs are so small that they cannot be easily seen by the naked eye, the bugs are visible once they hatch.
Even if there are no visible signs of an infestation, it is evident that rice weevils are there if the rice has been hollowed out and has emergence holes. To prevent an infestation, store rice in screw-top glass, plastic or metal containers, and regularly clean food-storage areas, such as the pantry and cupboards. If rice weevils are found, throw out the rice and clean the area where the rice was.
