Plow point brands include Weise, Osmundson, Agmate and Case IH. Weise Industries, in business since 1899, carries plow points to fit a number of plows, including Allis Chalmers, John Deere, Oliver and Massey Ferguson. Weise is one of America's largest farm tillage tool manufacturers, manufacturing its own product line as well as parts for original equipment manufacturers. Case IH plow points include ribbed, deep suck and upset plowshares.
The IH ribbed plow shares, for use in normal soil conditions, are heavy-duty, affordable shares with a reinforcing rib for extra strength and longer wear. Upset shares are thicker across the entire front portion of the point, and this added strength makes them the choice for rocky or abrasive soil. Deep suck shares enter the soil more quickly than other points and ensure more consistent plowing depth in hard ground, though they are not the choice for extremely rocky soils.
Osmundson Manufacturing Company began manufacturing tillage tools in Perry, Iowa, in 1903 and boasts having a green footprint in the steel heat-treating industry due to its new steels and heat-treating techniques. Osmundson plow points are .375 inches thick, 4 inches wide, and 14 inches to 18 inches long. Agri Supply carries a number of Agmate plow points, including the Agmate furrower, cultivator sweep, snumb nose furrower and the field cultivator point.
