Samsung, KitchenAid, Whirlpool and Maytag all offer 30-inch-wide refrigerators with a variety of features. The 30-inch refrigerators at Samsung, KitchenAid and Whirlpool are all French-door refrigerators with a bottom freezer, while the ones at Maytag are conventional one-door refrigerators with a bottom freezer.
Samsung's 30-inch model can fit about 22 bags of groceries despite the small size, and it has a pantry area that provides space for largeor bulky items. This refrigerator has spill-proof glass shelves, LED light bulbs in its interior and comes in four different finishes. The Maytag model also boasts LED lighting in its interior. In addition, Maytag highlights its built-in ice maker, glass shelves that catch spills and adjustable gallon-capacity door bins to hold large and awkwardly shaped items.
As of 2015, the KitchenAid and Whirlpool refrigerators are not the top-rated of the slim refrigerators by Consumer Reports, but only because of their small size. The KitchenAid model has a water dispenser inside, with a built-in water filter. It also comes with extra technology, such as a door-open alarm and digital controls. The Whirlpool refrigerator shares many of the same technology features, except the water dispenser and digital controls are located on the exterior rather than the interior.
