Many companies produce limited-edition pink appliances to sell during October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness month, but only Cuisinart and KitchenAid sell pink appliances year-round to support the fight against breast cancer. Conair sells appliances for grooming that are also linked to breast cancer awareness.
KitchenAid has an entire line of pink kitchen appliances, including a stand mixer, food processor, immersion blender and several stand blenders, that the company uses to support its annual donation to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. In 2013 and 2014, KitchenAid pledged to donate a minimum of $450,000 regardless of product sales and more if product sales supported a larger amount. The company also raises money for breast cancer research through its Cook for the Cure program.
Cuisinart also has a large selection of pink appliances that help it to raise funds for its annual $32,500 donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Although these products help to support the annual donation, Cuisinart has pledged that lower sales will not impact the donation amount.
Conair has a full line of pink appliances used for hair care and grooming in its Power of Pink collection. In 2015, the company pledged a donation of $110,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation regardless of how many pink products it sells.
