As of 2015, two major companies make convection wall heat panels, Econo-Heat and Dimplex. Both sell wall models in the $100 to $200 range, and these are available from stores including Amazon and the Home Depot.
The Econo-Heat 400-Watt Wall Panel Convection Heater received an average four and half star rating on the Home Depot website. This model is designed for easy installation and silent operation. Customers report that it successfully heats rooms to the desired temperature. Users point out that this type of heater is not intended to produce instant warmth and works best on interior rooms. The Home Depot reports that this type of convection heater can save users up to 50% on energy bills.
Dimplex also manufactures wall mounted convection heaters. These are also designed for silent operation and utilize natural air currents to circulate heat throughout the room. The recently released Linear Convection Heaters are designed to fit discreetly into a room like a baseboard. These models keep the room toasty while freeing up to 42% more wall space.
Many Dimplex models feature built in thermostats allowing users to maximize both comfort and energy efficiency. Since these convection heaters have no moving parts, they are able to output heat without making any noise.
