Two well-reviewed space heater brands of 2015 include Lasko and DeLonghi. Space heaters from both manufacturers receive favorable reviews on both This Old House and The Sweet Home.
The Sweet Home praises Lasko’s 754200 as the best heater for small spaces. Tests indicate the 754200 as one of the fastest heaters for smaller areas, such as bedrooms or offices. For larger areas, This Old House recommends Lasko’s Low Profile Heater. This larger baseboard unit is a practical choice for heating basements, family rooms or any other larger space. The Low Profile Heater wins praise for its unobtrusive design and quiet operation.
DeLonghi also manufactures a variety of space heaters than get favorable reviews from both sites. The Sweet Home lauds the company’s oil-based TRD0715T as the best space heater for large areas, praising its quiet operation, mechanical timer, powerful heating system and ability to produce heat even after being turned off. The site does note drawbacks, however, including the unit’s heavy weight, slow heating and tendency to become hot to the touch. This Old House also gives the model favorable reviews, recommending it for use in living rooms and bedrooms. The Sweet Home also praises the company’s EW7507EB unit as a larger room heater and the HMP1500 micathermic heater as another strong alternative.
