One way to design bath tiles is to arrange them in bands of tiny mosaic tiles against one wall of a shower in an otherwise all white bathroom. The bands alternate with dark and light blue tiles.
Another way to arrange tiles is to install subway tiles all the way around an arch over a free-standing bathtub. Larger tiles of white, gray-veined marble echo the marble on the floor surrounding the large Palladian window above the tub. One area of black and white tile in a basketweave pattern breaks up the marble floor, while another fills the space beneath the bathtub.
In another bathroom, gold and opalescent floor tiles harmonize with golden sink fixtures, golden shades of a wall sconce, a golden toilet tissue roll holder and even a golden wastebasket.
