Making sheets from bamboo involves a greater amount of time and cost compared to the more common microfiber material, making the cost of bamboo sheets higher. To create sheets from bamboo, the plant has to be stripped for cellulose and undergo a chemical reaction to transform the bamboo into rayon.
The average cost for microfiber material sheets is roughly $25, as opposed to the price of bamboo sheets averaging around $100. The fibers used to make both bamboo and microfiber sheets are usually thin, making the sheets thin as well and less prone to stains or trapping odors. While both materials used to make sheets are incredibly close in feeling and durability, the main reason for bamboo being more costly is the time involved in making the sheet itself.
