Behr DeckOver is available in more than 50 different colors including Redwood, Castle Gray, Sagebrush Green, Cordovan Brown and Cedar Naturaltone. Mountain Spruce, Sandal, Light Lead, Sable and Barn Red are other available Behr DeckOver colors.
To use Behr DeckOver, preparation is necessary, and it is best for horizontal or vertical wood and composite surfaces. This coating is best for railings, decks, docks and porches in addition to concrete surfaces such as patios, pool decks and sidewalks, but individuals should not apply DeckOver to drivable surfaces such as driveways and garage floors.
To prepare the surface for Behr DeckOver, it is important that it is clean, dry, sound and free of grease, dirt and oil. If applying the DeckOver to wood, the individual must remove any unstable or rotting boards and splinters. It is also important to clean the wood with a chemical cleaner, and then stripping must occur before applying DeckOver.
If applying the material on concrete, it is important to avoid areas that are weak, and new concrete should be allowed to cure for 30 days. If paint is on the concrete, the individual must strip it away, and clean the concrete with a chemical cleaner before applying DeckOver.
