An appliance bundle is a deal some stores offer in which customers receive a discount for buying several appliances at once instead of as individual items. For instance, in 2015, Sears offered kitchen suite bundles that included a refrigerator, dishwasher and stove as well as a microwave in some cases.
Appliance bundles allow customers to completely furnish a kitchen or laundry room at a discount. For instance, in 2015, HH Gregg featured kitchen appliance bundles that allowed customers to save around 20 percent over purchasing the appliances individually. Stores offer these bundles in several brands, such as Maytag, GE, Whirlpool and Kenmore. For kitchens, bundles typically consist of three or four appliances, with the microwave being the optional item.
Some stores also offer appliance bundles for the laundry room. Sears offers savings of around 35 percent for customers who buy specific washers and dryers at the same time. The company also offers small appliance bundles.
Stores usually do not allow customers to exchange one appliance for another and still receive the bundle price. For example, if ABT is offering a four-piece Frigidaire bundle, customers cannot exchange the Frigidaire microwave for a GE model. In most cases, they cannot even exchange an appliance for another within the same brand without completely changing the pricing.
