While American Standard does not have suggested color themes for bathroom fixtures, they do suggest the use of personal taste in deciding what colors to use for the bathroom. Because of the subjectivity of color, personal taste is often the largest deciding factor in what colors to choose.
For instance, to create a bright, open mood in the bathroom, lighter color bathroom fixtures are recommended. For a smaller bathroom, dark colors help create a more intimate mood. In addition, furniture and flooring make a big difference in what color to choose.
The light available in the bathroom will also make a difference in how a particular paint might look with the fixtures. A small dab of paint applied to the wall followed by a day of observation can help determine if a color is appropriate.
