Set skillet on a flat dry surface. Lock the pan handles securely to the skillet. Plug the skillet into a standard 120 volt outlet. The initial temperature is the default temperature set by the manufacturer. This is typically 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 180 degrees Celsius.
The skillet is equipped with a temperature control knob. Locate the control knob. To increase the temperature, turn the control knob clockwise. To decrease the temperature, turn the control knob counter-clockwise. Once the skillet reaches the set temperature, the preheat light will turn off, and the ready light will turn on.
The temperature control knob can be used to adjust the temperature during cooking by turning the knob clockwise to increase temperature and counter-clockwise to decrease temperature. When this is done, the preheat light will turn on and stay lit until the skillet reaches the new temperature. When the new temperature is reached, the ready light will turn back on.
