Some styles of beach wedding dresses include a sheath long gown with a sweetheart bodice, a short lace dress with a sheer mesh overlay and a halter dress with pearl embellishments. Beach wedding dresses are usually made of light, flowing fabrics such as silk chiffon and organza.
When shopping for a beach wedding dress, the top three factors to consider are the silhouette, neckline and fabric. The bride's figure or body type needs to be considered, as well. For instance, beach brides with a triangular figure (hips are wider than the shoulders) look great wearing an A-line or short gown silhouette with a strapless neckline. Heavy beading and a long train are not recommended as they can weigh down the beach wedding dress.
